YEAH!

Our children all discover at the wonderful age of 2 that if they act out in sacrament meeting they will be promptly taken out into the hall so others in the meeting can enjoy an hour of the spirit. Once these 2 year olds are taken out into the hall they discover that they can run, giggle, and get the hallway all wet from the drinking fountain. This week my 2 year old thought that this was going to be the case... Until mom took him out and made him sit on her lap and let him cry. (I  apologies to all those that could hear him scream his head off during the meeting) He then thought that it would be best if he was safe with his father sitting in the chapel. He was still whimpering but had no notion of acting out and being contained on moms lap in the hall. Once sacrament meeting was over he leapt up onto his feet and began to Clap with much enthusiasm! Then begain yelling as loud as he could "YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!" the more he cheered the more happy he was with the thought that it was over. overwhelmed he started to cry. still clapping and yelling "YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!"
I don't know if the containment had a positive reaction or if I messed with kids emotions. he may never want to go to sacrament meeting ever again and may be content with nursery for two hours. but we will see what happens next week.

life of a stay at home mom, and some other stuff.

I love my life as a stay at home mom! I would not triad it for anything in the world. William is one little clown and I laugh almost daily at his spirit.  He is now 18 months old and shows it.  His vocabulary is limited but he still seems to find a way to let me know what it is he is trying to get across.  His words include, Dad, mom, dog, fish, ball, and I can’t.  Here are just a few stories…

Last month William was getting cranky and needed snuggles with a bottle.  I told William “get your bottle and come here” at first he looked at me like a deer in head lights, I said again, “William where is you bottle” (it was right next to him on the floor) he shrugged an I don’t know shrug. I rolled my eyes and said “William bring me your bottle!” he then replied “I CAN’T.”  That was my first argument with my son.

My next story happened today at about noon. I was in the living room doing some homework when my little bug comes walking out from his bedroom without a diaper. He then says “mom!” points to his man business and says “Ball” I could not help but laugh and call his father and let him know that his son is indeed learning his body parts. It made for one bashful momma and one proud daddy.
Keep it up little William!

New things!

This past year has been one of great trial and some great experiences.  This past week seamed to end that all and give us a new look on life.  With a new baby (our first baby) Alex going to Belize, saying good bye to a dear loved one and Alex finishing his first few (4) degrees life seemed to be moving way to fast.   It was nice to take some time yesterday to go to Laramie so Alex could be interviewed for a scholarship.  While going we were jittery. This scholarship could help us with so many things. but once the interview was over. We felt fine. We know that by paying our tithing we were going to be ok. That whatever dose happen to us in the feature would be because the lord wanted it that way. I am Always one that likes to know what is going to happen before it dose. I don’t like jumping into things with my eyes closed. So the fact that I felt this way was insane. So whether or not we get this scholarship does not seem to worry me. Granted it would be nice, I now know we are going to be fine. I can’t wait to go to Laramie for good and see what other things the lord has planed. As Peter Pan loves to say “To live will be an awfully big adventure.”

just some of my photos!

I always enjoyed taking pictures.  It is my stress reliever!  I like to go some place quiet and just trap all the beautiful things our Heavenly Father gave us!  Not to mention I find photography interesting. So here are some of my pieces. I think it would be selfish to keep it to myself.

Laramie here we come!

Spring break was nothing to great.  a nice 4 and a half hour drive to Laramie, nice because William did not cry once.  what a big boy.  well we got to Laramie and my first thought was ohhhhh CRAAAP!  i was not looking forward to finding a place at all.  BUT! we started looking around and found tat there was allot more there then i thought.  and Alex and i decided that there are a few stores we are not allowed to enter until Christmas or birthday events.
After looking from apt to apt we Finlay found a good place. a nice sized two bedroom apartment with all utilities payed for! the lord was really watching out for us.  i cant wait to start packing but we still have some time so there is no hury.
I am still going to be sad to leave my Sheridan.  i will miss looking out the window and being able to see the big horns and the no wind. but i know its where the lord wants us to be.  I know that if i listen to his promptings my family will be okay and there will be blessings. so come May 27th Good by Sheridan and Hello Laramie!  it will be a great adventure.

Through sickness and in health

We are all aware of the dreadful epidemic that hit the US in 2009, the one and only H1N1 (or as my father likes to call it the big HINI)   at the time Alex and I still lived on campus, and with this illness going from student to student.   It was asked of us to let the housing office know if we had it so they had a count…. So we thought.   So one night Alex wakes up with a temp. and all the sighs of the big hini.   So I call the housing office the next day to let them know.  Shortly after I began to get ill and soon Alex and I were to worthless balls of sick.  So we call the housing office again to let them know. The response was insane!   They taped a sign on the door that read… “This house hold if infected with H1N1. Stay away at all cost.”  A count my bum! Well after about two weeks of icky sickly nasty Alex and I found the strength to go back to School and Work.
After being treated as lepers it was nice to get back into the real world and not confined in our little apartment watching the fake “real world.”   And I love Alex soooo much but there is only so much sick man one can handle.   Is it just me ladies or do men act like it is the end of the world when they are sick! Anyhow, it was a wild ride and I would not do it again!
